Steph Jansen creates felt landscapes, capturing moments of deep connection in her surrounding countryside. She returns to places that feel timeless yet still surprise her with fleeting moments of beauty. She 'paints' with wools, natural fibres, threads and fabrics, building fine layers like the ground beneath our feet, shaped by time and history. Steph graduated from Goldsmiths College, University of London, with a BA(Hons) in Fine Art and Art History. She returned to her art practice in 2018, making wet felt her preferred medium. Since then, she has shown successfully at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists Summer Show 2025, and enjoyed her first solo exhibition at Hopton Hall Gallery, Ashbourne, Derbyshire in September 2026. She regularly shows at Art Surrey, Melbourne Art and Architecture Trail, Creative Melbourne Gallery and Hopton Hall Gallery, and is an active member of the highly regarded Peak District Artisans.
